Social Policy Annual Newsletter 2011/2012 Released

Our latest social policy newsletter is now available:

Social Policy is as a deliberate intervention that ensures fair distribution of resources and services to citizens in order to achieve welfare objectives. These welfare objectives are intended to solve problems which include among others; Consumer Issues, Debt Issues, Employment Issues, Family and Relationship Issues, Housing Issues, Mental Health Issues, Welfare Benefit Issues and Immigration Issues.

Social Policy Work strives to improve or change the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. It uses client evidence to help spot trends and collate evidence of policies or services which are not working. This evidence gives CALC a unique insight into the problems facing our clients and allows us to let policy and decision-makers know about the problems that our clients are experiencing. This is done through targeted campaign work and related activities.

This Annual Newsletter will briefly summarise the 2011/12 Annual Report for the Social Policy work undertaken by the Citizens Advice and Law Centre (CALC). It provides details of the work undertaken, events attended and the campaigns supported. It recognises the continued high volume and variety of social policy work being undertaken within CALC (read more).
